Report: Chelsea get green light in £14m agreement for sixth Enzo Maresca signing

Chelsea Football Club are nearing the completion of their sixth summer signing with the impending acquisition of Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors for a reported fee of £14 million, according to Football.London.

The 19-year-old defender has already agreed to personal terms and awaits final approvals before undergoing a medical examination.

Anselmino is poised to ink a lucrative six-year contract that will tie him to Stamford Bridge until 2030. Boca Juniors, however, are keen to retain him on loan until January, despite interest from Strasbourg.

Anselmino, primarily a centre-back but versatile in defensive midfield, has garnered praise in his native Argentina for his promising potential.

Boca's president, Juan Roman Riquleme, lauded the youngster, expressing confidence in his future success: "He has developed a lot.

With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer."

Despite limited senior experience, having made just 10 appearances since his professional debut in June 2023, including his first goal in April, Anselmino is seen as a prospect for Chelsea's future rather than an immediate starter.

His imminent arrival continues Chelsea's strategy of investing in young talent, following recent signings like Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham,

Estevao Willian from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £48 million (effective 2025), Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa for £19 million, Marc Guiu from Barcelona for £5 million, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City in a £30 million deal.
