Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has vowed to investigate alleged illegal deductions of gratuities of pensioners under the administration of former governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The Governor stated this while flagging off the second phase of the payment of gratuities and death benefits amounting to N5 billion to about 4,000 retirees in the state on Saturday.

Governor Yusuf said his administration had no records or documents indicating such deducted monies were returned to the government coffers by the previous government.

He however pointed out that the state government, therefore, could not pay such monies to the retirees as there are no documents to support the payments.
