Manchester United Names Two Nigeria Youngsters In Traveling Squad To Spain 1 hour ago

Ahead of the resumption of club football, Manchester United have announced their travelling squad for a training camp in Spain with two Nigeria-eligible teenagers making the cut. 

 Former Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag has taken central midfielder Maximillian Oyedele and striker Shola Shoretire to the Andalusian Province, where the squad will be based for one week. 

 Born in Manchester to a Polish mom and Nigerian father, Oyedele who joined the Red Devils in July 2021, has made twenty appearances for the U18’s since joining the Premier League side. This season, he has featured in six games, scored one goal and created one assist.

 Maximillian Oyedele, who signed his professional contract with the Red Devils in the summer, also trained with trained with League Two club Doncaster Rovers in October.

 Unlike Oyedele, Shola Shoretire is expected to be an integral part of the traveling squad. The Nigerian descent made his debut for United on February 21, 2021, as an 88th-minute substitute for Marcus Rashford in a 3–1 home league win over Newcastle United.

 As part of their preparations for the Premier League restart, United will face La Liga sides Cadiz and Real Betis in friendly matches on December 7 and December 10 respectively.
