Fubara: There Is A Need To Exercise Caution, Even In Anger - Diran Odeyemi

Former PDP Deputy National Chairman Diran Odeyemi cautioned Governor Fubara on Tuesday to use prudence, especially in moments of anger, and to refrain from taking his complaints to the party that helped him become the governor.

Punch reported that he called the governor's comments regrettable and emphasized that he ought to approach the situation differently rather than suggesting that the party is incapable of resolving its problems.

Recall that Governor Fubara expressed remorse last week over the party's perceived failure to uphold the state's citizens in the midst of an ongoing political crisis.

According to Fubara, the state is now depending more on its ability to act in accordance with the facts than on party politics.

Speaking in the red chamber, the governor welcomed a few legislators at the state's Presidential Hotel. He said that the state will protect democracy on its own territory without being constrained by political allegiance.

While recommending that the governor should give his score to the party leadership rather than damaging the party's name, Odeyemi pointed out that the party is governed by laws and a constitution.

In his words, "The governor should not extend his frustrations to a party that gave him the platform to become who he is today."

"There is a need to exercise caution, even in anger. Don’t destroy a party that made you who you are. Agreed, you have your grievances, but go through the normal channels and do not portray the party as unable to resolve its issues."
