The controversy surrounding pipeline surveillance contracts in the Niger Delta has escalated, with human rights organizations urging the Federal Government to cease awarding contracts to dubious entities. Simultaneously, the Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to promptly review the contentious pipeline surveillance contracts in the region.

During a segment on Arise TV addressing pipeline surveillance in the Niger Delta, Hon. Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, a former member of the House of Representatives, weighed in on the debate surrounding the awarding of the pipeline surveillance contract to Tantita. He raised questions about the government's decision and whether it was the right move to entrust Tantita with the responsibility of securing the pipelines.

Agbonayinma emphasized the authority vested in the President to make decisions regarding pipeline surveillance contracts, suggesting that if President Buhari deemed Tantita capable of safeguarding the waterways, his judgment should be respected. In his view, the President's decision merits commendation rather than scrutiny.
