According to a report from Vanguard, the Rivers State Police Command has cracked down on the ONELGA Security Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC), a vigilante group operating across the state, due to repeated public complaints about their criminal activities.

Police have arrested over eight OSPAC members, including the group's leader Felix Nwaobakata, who was found in possession of two human skulls and other bones.

The arrests come after the OSPAC group refused to honor a police summons and instead attacked a police station, an assault that was thwarted by officers.

The police action was sparked by a report from Alhaji Usman Seleh, the Chairman of the Hausa Indigenous Group in ONELGA, who said OSPAC had abducted one of his community members.

When the police tried to question the OSPAC commander about this, he refused to cooperate.

In a separate incident, OSPAC members in Egbeda Community, Emohua LGA, were also accused of killing a youth without provocation, ambushing and gunning down the victim after a protest in the area.

The Rivers State Police Commissioner, CP Olatunji Disu, has vowed to investigate these cases and other alleged crimes by OSPAC.

He advised residents to report any incidents of assault, extortion, or illegal detention by the vigilante group.
