According to reports on DAILY POST, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has levied serious allegations against certain northern political elites, accusing them of scheming to thwart President Bola Tinubu's potential re-election bid in 2027.

The forum asserted that ongoing disruptions and agitations in the North are part of a covert strategy aimed at undermining the Tinubu administration and impeding his chances of securing a second term.

Yerima Shettima, President General of the AYCF, claimed that this alleged plot involves setting unreasonable benchmarks for the Tinubu government with the explicit intent of discrediting its performance and eroding public support.

Shettima specifically identified Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, as a primary target of these orchestrated efforts.

According to Shettima, the sustained assaults on key allies of President Tinubu are integral to a broader agenda designed to destabilize the government and sabotage any potential re-election bid in 2027.

The AYCF views these tactics as desperate maneuvers by power-hungry factions aimed at derailing the administration's progress and reversing its anti-corruption initiatives.

Expressing dismay over what it perceives as premature political machinations, the AYCF condemned the deliberate propagation of false narratives and the utilization of obscure groups to tarnish the reputation of President Tinubu and his allies.

In response to these allegations, the AYCF called upon President Tinubu and his team to maintain vigilance and unwavering commitment to Nigeria's advancement.

Shettima urged the President to remain focused on fulfilling his pledges to the Nigerian populace despite the orchestrated smear campaigns.
