Ex-Senator Shehu Sani Blasts Wike: Your Success Was Built on Our Sacrifice

opera.com 4 days ago

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has fired back at Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stating that Wike's political rise was made possible by the struggles of himself, Mike Ozekhome, and other freedom fighters during the military regime. Sani emphasized that Wike would not have held various political offices, including local government chairman, state governor, and Minister, without their efforts.

Sani's response came after Wike questioned the significance of Sani's presence in the Senate and his contributions to Nigeria's development. Sani called on President Bola Tinubu to take action and address the suffering of Nigerians, prompting Wike to ask Sani to list his achievements during his time in the National Assembly.

The exchange between Sani and Wike highlights a deeper rift between the two political figures. Sani's reference to his imprisonment in Port Harcourt during the military junta underscores his perceived sacrifices for democracy, implying that Wike's success was built on the foundation laid by others. The war of words between Sani and Wike reflects the ongoing tensions and power struggles within Nigeria's political landscape.
