According to PUNCH, a woman and her son, known only as Chukwuemeka, reportedly fatally assaulted a 14-year-old boy named Testimony at their residence on Delta Street, Ayanre, near Ibiye bus stop in Badagry, Lagos. They allegedly accused him of losing a ₦1000 note intended for market errands.
According to reports, the attack started at 11 pm on Wednesday and lasted for several hours until Testimony passed away from his injuries around 1 am on Thursday. Despite attempts by neighbors to intervene, they were unable to do so because the doors were locked from the inside.
One neighbor stated that the boy's guardians were not his biological parents. On Thursday at 6 am, the boy, named Testimony, became unresponsive, prompting his guardians to rush him to a nearby hospital that did not have oxygen therapy, which aggravated his condition. Upon returning home, the woman contacted her church prayer partners to request prayers for a miracle, but sadly, the boy passed away later.
The neighbors reported that a young boy, not raised by his biological parents, was fatally beaten by his guardians. They attempted to intervene, but found the doors locked from within.
“Around 6 am this morning (Thursday), he (the deceased) wasn’t responding to his name, so they rushed him to a nearby hospital. The hospital didn’t have oxygen therapy, so they brought him back home, which aggravated the boy’s condition. The woman then contacted her fellow worshippers at church to begin praying for miracles to occur before the boy eventually passed away. At precisely 5:10 pm on Thursday, the police arrived to apprehend the woman, who was the primary suspect in the brutal treatment of the deceased."
The woman was apprehended by police at approximately 5:10 pm on Thursday. Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state police command, mentioned that he couldn't verify the incident at that moment.
An unidentified witness recorded a video depicting the lifeless body of a boy, heavily bruised and covered with a cloth inside an apartment. The person filming commented on the bruises and expressed disbelief at the situation.
