Gunmen Kill Nigerian Police Inspector In Rivers State

Suspected armed robbers on Wednesday night killed a Nigerian police officer identified as Inspector Sunday Baba during their operation at Rumuolumeni in Rivers State

This was confirmed by the state police command on its X account.

The command mourned the death of the deceased described as a ‘brave man’ who lost his life on duty.

Ondo PDP Holds Governorship Primary Election Today

The governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State is set to be held today in Akure, the state capital.

Seven aspirants have been cleared by the Senator Sam-Egwu-led screening committee to contest in the indirect primary election. The election will be held at the International Culture and Events Centre in Akure.


Passenger Dies Inside Public Bus In Kwara

A yet-to-be-identified passenger has died inside a commercial bus at Ogbomoso-Ilorin expressway, Kwara State.

The incident, it was gathered, left other passengers on the bus in shock and disbelief.

The deceased who is believed to be in his late 60s, tragically lost his life en route Ilọrin, according to one of the eyewitnesses.


Sirika Spends Second Night In EFCC Custody Over N8bn Probe

Embattled former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has spent his second night in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, over an ongoing N8,069,176,864.00 money laundering probe.

This was as the anti-graft commission began a probe into the alleged fraud involved in the botched Nigeria Air project.

Top EFCC sources privy to the interrogation but were not authorised to speak publicly, confirmed that the EFCC interrogators grilled Mr Sirika over the botched Nigeria Air project that has stirred controversy across the country.
