If you look at Tinubu’s 8m votes, put Atiku’s 6.7, Obi’s 6.1, it was enough to defeat Him, Sani

Former Senator Shehu Sani expressed his opinion by stating that if we were to combine the votes received by Atiku Abubakar (6.7 million) and Peter Obi (6.1 million), they would have surpassed the total number of votes received by Bola Tinubu (8 million) during the election. He suggests that adding the votes of another candidate and his party (NNPP) would further strengthen this point.

Sani highlighted his belief that the main error made by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) was not losing the support of some governors (often referred to as the G5) as widely believed, but rather the loss of Peter Obi. This statement implies that had the PDP fielded a more compelling vice presidential candidate, the election results might have been different. He argues that the combined votes of Atiku, Obi, and other parties could have led to Tinubu's defeat.

In an interview with The Sun, Sani said, "If you look at Tinubu’s eight million votes, if you put Atiku’s 6.7 and Obi’s 6.1, the two votes were enough to defeat Tinubu. And if you add that of one point something of the NNPP, it is even far beyond. So, the greatest mistake of the PDP was the loss of Peter Obi, not the G5."
