Tinubu Makes New Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello as chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), pending the approval of the Senate.

Bello’s appointment was contained in a statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday.

According to the statement, Bello has practiced over the years in various fields, including banking, consulting and law enforcement, among others.

Bianca Wins In Suit Challenging Ojukwu's Will

A High Court sitting in Enugu State has ruled in favour of Bianca, widow of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as rightful beneficiary of the late Igbo leader’s estate.

The judgment was delivered on Wednesday in a suit instituted by Chief Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu.

Debe had approached the court seeking to be declared the first son of the late Dim Ojukwu.


Nigeria University, UNIJOS Students Protest Against Water Scarcity, Power Outage, Lock Out Lecturers

Some students of the University of Jos, in Plateau State on Thursday protested against water scarcity and lack of electricity supply to their hostels.

The students in their large numbers locked the school’s gates, chanting solidarity songs and displaying placards with different inscriptions like, ‘No light to soak Garri’ and ‘’We no get SUG" while others held empty buckets to symbolise the lack of water in the institution. 

The students lamented the situation had caused them untold suffering and impacted negatively on their academic activities. 


Lawal Meets Tinubu

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has met with President Tinubu to discuss the alarming increase in banditry and related criminal activities in the state.

The meeting was held on Tuesday behind closed doors inside the president’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

A statement by the spokesman of the Zamfara Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that the governor briefed President Tinubu on the security situation in Zamfara, particularly the resurgence of attacks in some areas.
