Begin Proceedings For Fubara's Impeachment- APC To Rivers Assembly

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has directed the state House of Assembly to immediately commence the process of impeaching the state Governor, Siminialayi Fubara.

This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Rivers caretaker committee, CTC of the party led by Tony Okocha stated in Port Harcourt.

Recall that the governor had on Sunday lambasted the Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule, saying the lawmakers no longer exist as legislators in the eyes of the law.

Jasper Uche Dumps PDP In Abia

The 2023 Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Dr Jasper Uche has resigned from the party.

His resignation was disclosed in a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman, Umuaku Ward in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

The letter made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday morning was also copied to the PDP Chairman, Umunneochi LGA and the State Chairman of the party.


Gunmen Invade Abuja Village, Kidnap 13, Demand N900m Ransom

Gunmen on Sunday night invaded Piko, a remote community in Bwari Area Council of the nation’s capital, Abuja, allegedly kidnapping 13 persons.

The operation which reportedly lasted for an hour without any challenge, is the latest attack on the Council.

A community source said the Madaki of the community, Chief John Jatau also confirmed that 10 residents were kidnapped from his domain, including four nomadic Fulani herdsmen.


Plateau Mass Transit City Buses Begin Operation

The long-awaited digital mass transit buses acquired by the Plateau State Government to ease transportation challenges for the citizens in the city of Jos and its environs on Tuesday began operation.

The state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, was driven in one of the buses to Terminus Market in Jos, alongside other top government officials, to signal the formal commencement of their operations.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, which took place at the Old Government House in Jos, Mutfwang said the acquisition of the buses, which will ply different routes, was aimed at mitigating the costs of intra-city travel and providing a respite from the daily transportation challenges faced by commuters.
