Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has explained the collaborations between the Yoruba and the Igbo movies, while also stating how actors can get support funds from the state governors without dividing the movie industry into different sectors.

In a video that was posted on the official Instagram page of Thehonestbunchpodcast, he made it known that actors can collect money from governors but that they should not divide Yoruba and Igbo, saying that they are both in the Nollywood movie industry.

In his statement, he said, "The Nigeria entertainment industry is called Nollywood, so if some actors are going to meet the governor of Ogun State, they should not categorize themselves as only Yoruba because all of us are under Nollywood.

"They can speak their native language when meeting the governor, but they should realize that they are representing Nollywood and not their region.

"Actors can collect money from governors, but they shouldn't divide Yoruba and Igbo."
