The Headquarters, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, has sent off the Division's Regimental Sargeant Major and Army Warrant Officer, Dauda Waheed, in grand style as he retired after 35 years of active service.
The ceremony took place on June 26, 2024, at the division's headquarters in Port Harcourt Barracks. The General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, while appreciating Army Warrant Officer Waheed for his service to the Nigerian Army, said he was particularly pleased with his level of regimentation and discipline.
He stated that the Regimental Sergeant Major played an important role in mentoring the young ones on the job in order to retain and sustain regimentation and discipline in the Nigerian Army.
Eulogizing him further, the General Officer Commanding stated that he was a dedicated, committed, disciplined, and result-oriented Regimental Sergeant Major who discharged his responsibilities with little or no supervision and promptly.
Army Warrant Officer Dauda Waheed expressed his pleasure and gratitude for working with the General Officer Commanding, whom he described as a charismatic and persuasive leader who places the needs of his men above himself.
He prayed that Almighty God should guide them to retire successfully.
