In Abeokuta, Ogun State, a betting agent named Abiodun Anuoluwapo was killed by a stray bullet from a police officer. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. as Anuoluwapo was closing his Bet9ja shop. Eyewitnesses reported that police officers, allegedly drunk or chasing a suspect, accidentally discharged a firearm. The officers fled into a nearby hotel and later escaped with backup. The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation was underway.

Failure to register by the new deadline may result in businesses losing their operational licenses and facing prosecution for facilitating criminal activities, as per CAC directives aligned with CAMA 2020 and CBN guidelines on agent banking.
