The executive Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has reacted after he visited a former Governor of the state, Celestine Omehia.
Siminalayi Fubara, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party is one of the most respected and revered politicians in the South South geopolitical zone of the country.
Siminalayi Fubara stated that he paid a condolence visit to Sir Celestine Omehia, a former governor of Rivers state in his country home in Ubima as he laid his mother to rest.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara stated on his verified Facebook page; "I paid a condolence visit to Sir Celestine Omehia, a former governor of our dear state in his country home in Ubima as he laid his mother to rest. It was a moment of somber reflection especially on paying respect to the departed and also admonishing the living to always stand firm for what is right to advance our society."
He stated further; "We were however encouraged by the fulfilled life led by the late matriarch and mother of the former governor, Ezinne Cecilia Wahia Omehia who departed at the age of 95. We also used the moment to charge our people to join hands in the advancement of our dear State and to eschew politics of bitterness. For it is only in unity that we can move our state forward."
