President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised the Nigerian Army for their resilience and professionalism at the 2024 Nigerian Army Celebration in Jos. Represented by Minister of Defence Abubakar Badare, Tinubu highlighted the administration's commitment to equipping the army and approved the purchase of attack helicopters and life assurance payments for fallen soldiers. Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taofeed Lagbaja reiterated the army's dedication to defending Nigeria and adapting to evolving security challenges.

Army Kill 11 ISWAP Terrorists in Sambisa Forest

Nigerian Army troops conducted a special clearance operation in Sambisa Forest, killing 11 ISWAP terrorists. The operation targeted an enclave in Jongo Village, resulting in a fierce gun battle. The army captured various arms, including rounds of ammunition, AK-47 magazines, hand grenades, and locally made guns.

Bauchi: Police Arrest 2,077 Suspected Criminals in One Year

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested 2,077 suspects for various crimes from July 2023 to July 2024. Under CP Auwal Musa, the Command faced challenges such as kidnapping, banditry, and cattle rustling. Key crime hotspots include forests in Ningi, Ganjuwa, Toro, and Alkaleri LGAs. Proactive measures and collaboration with stakeholders and security agencies have aided crime-fighting efforts. Notable achievements include arrests related to armed robbery, homicide, rape, kidnapping, and theft. The Command recorded 1,148 cases and implemented community policing and other strategies to combat crime.

Beg Nigerian govt or die in jail – Primate Ayodele to Nnamdi Kanu

Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church advised Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB, to beg the Nigerian government for his freedom to avoid dying in detention. Speaking at an event in Lagos, Ayodele warned that Nigeria would eventually break up, but not due to Kanu or Yoruba Nation's Sunday Igboho. He predicted a peaceful dissolution starting from the North, attributing it to spiritual unrest rather than political agitation. Ayodele emphasized that prayer and fasting wouldn't prevent the country's eventual fragmentation.
