Peter Obi Slammed For Opposing Proposed Procurement

An entrepreneur, Mike Emerah, has slammed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, for opposing the purchase of a new presidential jet for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Recall that a committee of the National Assembly reportedly recommended the purchase of new aircraft for the Presidential Fleet.

The lawmakers noted that aircraft in the Presidential Fleet had deteriorated, placing the lives of the President and Vice President at risk.

Man Climbs Mast

A middle-aged man, Monday morning, climbed a broadcast mast at Katampe Hills in Abuja, threatening to kill himself if the federal government fails to revert its policy on subsidy removal and address the current hardship in the country.

City & Crime learnt that the man identified as Shuaibu Alhaji Yusuf from Maiduguri, Borno State, dropped a handwritten note, demanding an end to issues of insecurity in parts of the northeast and the northwest.

Making his nine points demands from the government, the man said, “On behalf of fellow Nigerians, I demand the following: Government should return fuel subsidy, government should declare state of emergency in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger and Borno on insecurity (sic) matters and take immediate action to clear those terrorism (sic) in the above listed state and the country at large.


Rivers State Assembly Crisis Escalates As Pro-Gov Fubara Faction, Pro-Wike Faction Hold Separate Sittings

Rivers State is currently experiencing political tensions, with two factions of the State House of Assembly holding separate sittings today (Monday).

On Sunday night, the faction led by Victor Oko-Jumbo, which is loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, invited a new commissioner-nominee, Emmanuel Frank-Fubara, to appear before it on Monday for screening and confirmation as a member of the State Executive Council. The invitation was extended through a letter written by the Clerk, Dr. G. M Gillis-West.

Meanwhile, the faction led by Martin Amaewhule, loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, will also convene a plenary session today, according to Punch Newspaper. The pro-Fubara lawmakers will meet in a makeshift chamber at the Government House in Port Harcourt, while the pro-Wike lawmakers will gather at the official State Assembly quarters on Aba Road, also in Port Harcourt.


Enugu Police Clarify Viral Video Of Alleged Organ Harvesting

The Enugu State Police Command has clarified a viral video that sparked rumours of organ harvesting at a hotel in the state.

The video, which surfaced on X.com on Sunday, showed two women being rescued from a hotel room, allegedly saved from having their organs stolen.

One of the women in the video claimed the men were with guns.
