At the July 2024 Leadership Empowerment Summit held at Living Faith Church, Canaanland, Bishop David Oyedepo delivered a message on the nature of prophecies and the role of prophets in the lives of believers.

In his sermon, titled "What Are Prophecies," he underscored the importance of divine intervention in fulfilling God's promises and dismissed the notion that prophets are merely seeking offerings.

“Don’t ever attempt to view prophecies in your own strength, for it is beyond you,” Bishop Oyedepo advised. “Whatever God speaks with His mouth, only His hand has the capacity to deliver it.” He emphasized that the fulfillment of prophecies does not depend on human effort but on divine power.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Bishop Oyedepo shared instances where prophecies had come to pass without human intervention. He cited the unwavering support and prophetic declarations from spiritual leaders like Kenneth Hagin, Baba Adeboye, and Archbishop Benson Idahosa, who played significant roles in shaping his ministry.

“Prophets don’t need your offering, you need their help,” he reiterated, explaining that the true function of prophets is to guide and assist in fulfilling God’s plan, not to collect offerings.

Bishop Oyedepo also highlighted the miraculous growth and achievements of his ministry, attributing it to divine guidance and prophetic words. He recalled a prophecy from 1983, where Baba Adeboye proclaimed, “This Ministry will succeed whether you support it or not.” This prophecy, among others, has been remarkably fulfilled over the years.

He concluded by encouraging believers to remain steadfast in their faith and obedience to God’s word. “Ours is to stay focused on Him and His Word, and we have committed Him to bring His Word to pass in our lives,” he said.
