The residents of Dansadau in Maru Local Government Area have emphatically rejected the idea of negotiating with bandits, citing a string of failed attempts in the past. A community member revealed that they had engaged in over 10 futile negotiations with the bandits without any government support or success. Given this history of disappointment, the community is understandably wary of pursuing further dialogue.
According to the report by The Leadership News, a member of the community said, "You cannot negotiate with bandits. They are not sincere. We have tried it in Dansadau ten times without government involvement, but it has never yielded good results. They only reach an agreement to achieve their target and then back down. We no longer appreciate their negotiations. Just yesterday, they came close to town and exchanged fire with the military and the JTF. The same thing happened two days ago."
