The North Voted For Obasanjo And When Obasanjo was Going, He Returned Power To Northern Nigeria–Shehu Sani

In an interview with Sun News, human rights champion and public commentator Senator Shehu Sani spoke about how former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other Northern elites recently honored former President Muhammadu Buhari in Sallah. In 2027, Atiku and his friends planned to throw President Bola Ahmed Tinubu out of Aso Rock. Tanubu ran for PDP President in both 2019 and 2023.

Sani said that Atiku and his fellow travelers intend to unseat Tinubu in 2027 by using the relocation of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) offices to Lagos, the appointment of various persons from the country's southwest, and the unresolved security issue in Northern Nigeria.

"They are going to take very seriously" these significant issues, said Sani, the 8th Senate representative from the Kaduna Central Senatorial District. Furthermore, according to Sani, Tinubu is being portrayed by Atiku and his political allies as an ethnicist, regionalist, traitor, and someone who was chosen by the North but is now serving his people; as such, the North had to wake up and fire him.

They employ such tactic, according to Sani. In order to take over from there, they also want to ensure that the idea is accepted by the majority of people in the North. Sani, however, recommended that before the North retakes power in 2031, Atiku give Southerner Tinubu an extra eight years to complete the South's eight-year mandate.

That's right, Atiku is qualified to lead Nigeria. It's probable that after the South's eight-year term is over, and I think it will be best for him to consider the nation rather than his own ambition after considering the current circumstances. He is an experienced man who has witnessed a great deal of Nigeria's history.

After the South has completed its eight years in office, the North will have a clean slate, and it is in the North's best interest to declare that we have waited behind and allowed you to complete your term; now it is our turn to take over. And he would follow that, seeing that the majority of the votes that propelled Tinubu to power were from the North.

He Said: "The North voted for Obasanjo and when Obasanjo was going, he returned power to Northern Nigeria and the attempt to breach the rotation formula in 2015, caused the PDP to be out of power. So, to me, I believe that Atiku can be president, but it is after the South has finished their eight years.
