Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made a strong appeal to the aggrieved aspirants who lost out in the recent APC governorship primary election in Kogi State. Ganduje urged the aspirants not to dwell on the past, but to instead focus their efforts on ensuring the party's victory in the upcoming general elections.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the call for unity and cooperation came during a meeting convened by Ganduje, which brought together the aggrieved aspirants and the party's standard-bearer, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The meeting was held against the backdrop of the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, who had earlier this week submitted the report of the Primary Committee, amidst protests at the party's secretariat in Akure and petitions submitted to the Appeal panel by some of the aspirants.

In his address to the attendees, Ganduje acknowledged the "emotional distress" caused by the primary election process, but he emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was not to dwell on the past or to analyze the correctness or incorrectness of what had transpired. Instead, he urged the party chieftains to focus their attention on the upcoming November 16 off-season elections, where the APC's victory should be the primary objective.

Ganduje cautioned that dwelling on the past would lead to "too much analysis leading to paralysis," which could ultimately hinder the party's efforts to secure a win in the general elections. He stressed the importance of the party working as a united team, putting aside any personal grievances or differences that may have arisen during the primary process.
