A section of prominent leaders allied to the Azimio la Umoja coalition have demanded the resignation of President William Ruto while showing solidarity with the young Kenyan protestors.

Addressing journalists in Meru County, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka commended the youth, now referred to as the Gen Z, for their continued protests against the ruling government and urged them to soldier on.

He highlighted the importance of the Gen Z's activism and emphasized the need for their perseverance in demanding accountability and change from the government.

In addition, Musyoka expressed his appreciation for the Senate's support of the austerity measures advocated by the Gen Zs. He stressed that the government is plagued by corruption, with individuals continuously exploiting public resources for personal gain.

This sentiment was echoed by DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa, who called for the removal of President Ruto, asserting that the reforms introduced by the government were merely superficial attempts to pacify public discontent.

The leaders' unified stance reflects a growing movement within Kenya, with a call for transparency, accountability, and genuine reform within the government.

Their support for the Gen Z protestors underscores the significance of intergenerational collaboration in shaping the country's future and fostering a more inclusive and responsive governance system.
