Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue State, asserted that the administration of President Bola Tinubu lacks the capacity to steer Nigeria towards economic prosperity. Suswam's remarks were delivered during an interview on Channels Television, which was closely monitored by DAILY POST.

He lamented the inability of the Tinubu-led government to extricate the nation from the economic challenges inherited from his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari. Suswam castigated the era of 'Change' under Buhari's governance, questioning whether the touted transformation was indeed constructive or detrimental.

Suswam contended that the cumulative effect of policies implemented during the preceding eight years paved the path to the current economic quagmire. He decried the erosion of the foundation laid by the PDP administration, attributing the nation's descent into economic turmoil to the actions of the Buhari government.

In his words: “What we experienced under those eight years were what dovetailed into what we’re experiencing today because whatever foundation that was built by the PDP was completely destroyed by that (Buhari) government."

Drawing attention to the prevailing economic landscape, Suswam underscored the inadequacy of the current leadership to effect meaningful change. He criticized recent policy decisions, including the removal of petrol subsidy, currency devaluation, and hikes in electricity tariffs, as indicative of a government indifferent to the plight of the Nigerian populace.
