Ayuba Bassa, the National Coordinator of the Gwoza Christian Community Association, has shared his concerns about Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Borno after recent attacks in Gwoza by suicide bombers.

In a video shared by Channels TV, Bassa said some women in IDP camps who were reportedly rescued from Boko Haram have had more children while in the IDP camps. He stated that at night, under the pretext of gathering wood, these women meet their Boko Haram husbands in secret and have more children

Bassa warned that these camps are becoming breeding grounds for Boko Haram and he emphasized the need to address this issue.

In Bassa's words: "In IDP camps we talked about, you will find a Boko Haram woman, who supposedly has been rescued and she has been there in the camp for 7 years, giving birth to extra 3 children without a father. The father is in the bush, he is a Boko Haram member. In the night, in the name of going to look for wood, she will go and meet with her husband to take in another child. This is a breeding ground, she is breeding up offspring again for him"
