David Raya has officially signed a long-term contract with Arsenal to complete his transfer from Brentford.

As per the official website of the club, the 28-year-old goalkeeper was on loan with the Gunners last season and played a significant role in their achievements.

He featured in 41 matches across all competitions, making 20 clean sheets, including 16 in the Premier League, which earned him the prestigious 2023/24 Premier League Golden Glove award.

Since his move to Brentford in the summer of 2019, David has spent four years with the club, culminating in his standout season with Arsenal starting from August 2023.

He showcased exceptional performance not only in the league but also in European competitions.

Notably during the crucial penalty shoot-out against Porto in the Champions League round of 16 where he saved two penalties to propel the North London club into the quarter-finals for the first time in 14 years.

David announced his decision to make his move to Arsenal permanent by expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to join the club on a long-term basis.

He expressed excitement for the future, while appreciating the support he has received during his time on loan at the club.

“After a year on loan as a Gunner, I can finally say that I’m an Arsenal player for the coming years. I’m excited to see what the future holds, but always living in and enjoying the present.”

“It’s a dream come true to be here, and I want to thank you for all the support you have already given me throughout the last year.”
