Before the Red Devils won the trophy last season, Manchester City was the FA Cup holder. The Cityzens won the trophy in the 2022/23 season after beating Manchester United 2-1 in the final.
Since 1959, many teams have won the FA Cup, which is one of the biggest domestic cup competition in world football.
In 1959, Nottingham Forest won the trophy before Wolverhampton Wanderers won it the following year. Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a moment of dominance as they won the trophy for two seasons in a row (1961 and 1962). In 1963, Manchester United won the FA Cup before West Ham United won the trophy the following year.
Since 1963, Manchester United has won the FA Cup ten times, including last season's triumph. Manchester City has also enjoyed considerable success in the competition having won it four times since 1959.
