Chief Peter Ameh, a former Publicity Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) and Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), recently criticized Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, as reported by DAILY POST.

The controversy stemmed from Wike's comment during the flagging off of a project in the FCT, where he said that FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe would not be returning to the National Assembly in 2027.

Ameh strongly disagreed with Wike's declaration, stating that the political climate in Abuja is different from that of Rivers State, the state in which Wike previously held office.

Ameh denounced Wike's actions against the electorate and chastised other lawmakers for failing to oppose him. The disagreements about the 2027 election between Wike and other political players are highlighted by Ameh's remarks.

Ameh emphasized that the political dynamics in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) differ from those in Rivers State and advocated for accountability and respectful governance.

“Wike was a governor for eight years and a minister from Rivers State, but he lost his own local government and Rivers State before he padded the result. What makes him think he will win FCT? People are intelligent and cannot be intimidated the way he tries to intimidate the senator.“

"I blame other senators and leaders from the Labour Party for not coming together and speaking in one voice against Wike. They need to hold a press conference and tell him that he cannot control the country and misuse public resources,” he stated.
