FG Denies Running Four Budgets In A Year

The Federal Government has debunked claims that it is running four budgets in a fiscal year.

This was stated in a post on X by Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Mr. Temitope Ajayi.

The media aide responded to a thread of tweets by former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi, allegingthe government was running four budgets concurrently.

Ajayi wrote: “Yesterday, @BudgITng raised a false alarm on the basis of rumours that FG is planning a 2024 supplementary budget. It is important to state that the FG is not planning to run 4 budgets within a fiscal year as being alleged.

Ex-SGF Anyim Will Join APC–Ebonyi Chair

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has claimed that former Senate President and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has joined the party.

The party said it has made frantic efforts to bring the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Leader into the APC and he has accepted to join the party.

It said this was why his pictures were used in the local government and councillorship elections APC rally held in Ivo, the former ex-SGF local government on Saturday.

APC Ebonyi Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, who stated these during the rally, described Anyim as a critical stakeholder of the APC.

He said on July14, everyone will know that Anyim is a critical stakeholder of APC in South East.

Shettima berates caricature of Tinubu’s fall on June 12

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday night took a swipe at Nigerians who took to the media to mock President Bola Tinubu over his misstep during the democracy day celebration on June 12.

Recall that President Tinubu missed his step as he climbed onto the back of a military parade vehicle at Eagles Square, during the commemoration.

President Tinubu tripped and fell as he attempted to climb onto the Military land rover stationed to convey him to inspect a guard of honour mounted by officers and soldiers of the Guards brigade led by their Commander.

The incident sparked a media frenzy with many Nigerians making a caricature of Tinubu, just as others made humourous portrayal of the incident and ridiculed the President .

Works Minister, Sen David Umahi, has hinted that the Federal Government would terminate contracts with Julius Berger, CCECC and RCC firms on two lingering South South road projects if the contractors fail to show commitment to duty in one week.

The Minister announced this Saturday in Uyo while addressing Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and other Akwa Ibom stakeholders on President Bola Tinubu’s eagerness to flag off Calabar-Akwa Ibom Sections of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by August.

The Minister listed the affected federal projects as the Eleme-Onne Section of the East-West Road project in Rivers state being handled by RCC and the Calabar-Itu Road where Julius Berger and CCECC are engaged in handling separate sections.
