According to a report by Daily Post, Former Abia State Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Nwagboso, who served under former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman in Abia State.

In the letter, Nwagboso stated, "I have decided to resign my membership of the PDP effective immediately.

This decision has not been easy for me, but I have been compelled to take it due to the party's failure to address the issues that have plagued it for years."

Nwagboso, who was a key figure in the Ikpeazu administration, cited the party's lack of internal democracy, marginalization of certain groups, and the dominance of a few individuals as reasons for his resignation.

He also expressed his disappointment with the party's handling of the recent governorship election in the state.

"I am disappointed that the party has not lived up to its ideals and has failed to provide a level playing field for all members," Nwagboso said.

"I have tried to work within the party to address these issues, but it has become clear that my efforts have been in vain."

Nwagboso's resignation has sent shockwaves through the PDP in Abia State, with many party members expressing surprise and disappointment at his decision.

His departure is seen as a significant blow to the party, given his influence and reputation in the state.
