EFCC Official ‘Commits Suicide’ In Abuja

An official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja reportedly committed suicide. The deceased, an EFCC Course 5 member, was found dead at home. Known for being hardworking, he struggled with depression and personal issues. EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed an investigation is underway and emphasized support for the deceased's family. The agency is exploring factors like mental health and family challenges but will withhold further details until the investigation concludes.

Two Suspects Arrested For Car Theft in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command recovered a stolen black Nissan Pathfinder Jeep, converted into a pickup van, from two suspects, Adebayo Abosede and Modupe Obadimu, in Lafenwa. The vehicle was taken from Lukman Otesile's compound in Abeokuta. Otesile suspected the two new acquaintances, introduced by his sister, who had moved in with him. Police confirmed the vehicle's recovery and detained the suspects. A scrap dealer, Kalid Yau, who bought the car from the suspects, led to their arrest. Further updates are awaited.

Abducted travellers on Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway regain freedom

The Ogun State Police Command announced that four travellers abducted on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway on Sunday have been freed. Among those rescued were Mr. Ola and three Indian nationals. The rescue operation was carried out by the anti-kidnapping team along the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers. The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, had previously directed a manhunt for the culprits. The abduction took place between the Sagamu Area Command and Ilisan township, with some victims reportedly taken into the bush.
