Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that the party has started taking steps to de-marginalize Igbos in order to bring them into the center of national politics. During the APC South East zonal meeting on Sunday in Abakaliki, Ganduje declared that Igbos had demonstrated a great deal of support for the party and the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu. The national head of the APC stated that the party has made the decision to end the vicious cycle of marginalization, even if a distinction must be made between marginalization and the southeast's poor performance inside the party.

The appointments that President Bola Tinubu's administration has made so far for the zone are encouraging, and more could be accomplished if the party was more involved in its operations. He commended Gov. Francis Nwifuru for upholding the party's principles in the state and pointed out that Ebonyi had followed Imo's lead in heavily endorsing the party's endeavors. "We currently face the challenge of claiming Anambra, Enugu, and Abia, and in order to accomplish this, we must unite all relevant parties." The governor of Ebonyi, Francis Nwifuru, praised the leaders of the party for holding the meeting in the state, pointing out that the party now has its roots in the southeast and the state.

He mentioned that the president had given Igbos lucrative jobs in his administration, including deputy speaker of the house of representatives and senior ministries. "The South East Development Commission law, which would address the many issues facing Igbos, has reached a final stage and is awaiting the president's signature.
