Alhaji Yerima Shettima, Founder and President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, has weighed in on the matter, emphasizing the origins of the conflict. According to Shettima, the root of the issue lies in Ganduje's actions against former Emir Sanusi, whom Ganduje accused of wielding excessive influence. This led to Sanusi's removal and the appointment of Bayero as his successor. However, the recent reinstatement of Sanusi by Governor Abba Yusuf has reignited tensions, prompting concerns about the rationale behind these political decisions and their impact on the emirate's stability.

(Abdullahi) Ganduje, found a fault in the former emir (Lamido Sanusi). So, what has this one (Bayero) done to Governor Abba Yusuf to warrant him being removed? It was in public knowledge that Sanusi was making himself more powerful than Ganduje.
