Sachets of milk, Milo, N2,600, others recovered from armed robbers during gun duel with security men

After a gun duel with security men resulted in the deaths of other members, two members of a robbery gang were apprehended on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Among the items recovered from them were sachets of milk, Milo, and a total of N2,600. The two thieves, identified as Yusuf Lawal and Hamza Abdullahi, were apprehended by men of the command's Karshi Division in conjunction with the military, according to the Nasarawa State Police Command, which made the announcement on Saturday via its X handle.

The state police command announced the robbers' arrests on Saturday. According to information acquired, the station's Divisional Police Officer (DPO) received a distress call regarding an ongoing robbery operation at Karshi by-pass. The gang members allegedly started a gun battle with the security guards as soon as they saw them when police operatives and military personnel responded to the call.

The order stated: "Consequently, two of the criminals were fatally injured and rushed to the hospital, where they subsequently died while receiving treatment, and others escaped with bullet wounds." It was also reported that the area where Lawal and Abdullahi were detained was searched, providing additional valuable information to the security personnel regarding their criminal operations.

The following items were found on their person: three pistols, three cutlasses, nine pairs of shoes, a wristwatch, three flashlights, milk and Milo packets, two computers, and a total of two thousand and six hundred Nigerian cedis.
