Kebbi Governor Rewards 1,125 APC Delegates with N135m for Election Support
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has taken a bold step in appreciating the contributions of All Progressives Congress (APC) ward delegates by disbursing N135 million across 1,125 delegates from the state’s 21 local government areas. According to a report by Vanguard, the funds were distributed during a ceremony in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, Governor Idris commended the delegates for their unwavering support during the 2023 general elections and pledged to sustain their empowerment. “We have fulfilled 70 percent of the promises made to the people during our electioneering campaign. Birnin Kebbi has been transformed into a dignified and modern capital,” he stated.
The governor detailed his administration’s achievements in education, including paying school fees, renovating schools, and improving feeding programs for students. He also highlighted ongoing efforts in workers’ welfare and infrastructural development, reinforcing his administration’s focus on progress.
The state APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Kana-Zuru, announced that each delegate would receive N120,000 from the N135 million package. He reassured the delegates of their continued role as representatives of the party until 2027 and praised their steadfast support during the election.
Malam Muhammad Dan-Sadi, a delegate representative, expressed gratitude to the governor for the empowerment initiative and reaffirmed their loyalty. “The governor remains our political pillar and savior. We will not disappoint you,” he assured.
Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muhammad Usman-Zuru, encouraged the delegates to maintain their support and prayers for the governor’s success. Additionally, former Governor Saidu Dakingari lauded Idris for delivering on campaign promises and bolstering the APC’s influence in Kebbi State.
