According to the report from the Vanguard, Brother Ben Charles-Davies, a minister in Gospel Power Ministry (GPM), has made a passionate appeal to President Bola Tinubu’s administration to mitigate the suffering of Nigerians.

He emphasized the need for governments at all levels to introduce transformative policies and programs to alleviate hunger, hardship, and starvation.

Pastor Ben highlighted the severity of the situation, stating, "It is not an exaggeration that the masses are hungry. The look on the faces of Nigerians suggests they are bruised, bleeding, and in serious need of help." He expressed concern over the struggle many families face to feed themselves even once a day, with no certainty of where the next meal will come from.

Pastor Ben urged the government to act swiftly, govern with the fear of God, and implement policies to curb the rising prices of essential commodities. He remarked, "There is hunger and anger in the land; Nigerians have been wounded in all areas. No food to eat, it has never happened to us in this manner before. Politically, Nigerians are wounded on a daily basis."

He continued, "Nigerians are resilient, they are dogged, they can endure just like Fela said, ‘suffering and smiling,’ but the present situation is beyond suffering and smiling. The masses are being pushed to the wall, staple foods are not available any longer."

Despite the dire circumstances, Brother Ben encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful, patient, and to look up to God for divine intervention. "We have no other country than Nigeria; we have to be patient and look up to God because it is not man that will solve these problems. Until the true Nigerians emerge, I am not sure if it is this government that will take the country to Eldorado. We are still expecting God to give us the new Nigeria of our dream."

He emphasized the need for leaders dedicated to serving Nigeria and its people, rather than those serving only their own interests.
