A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN Wahab Shittu has expressed his doubt over Justice Inyang Ekwo's of the Federal High Court decision to declare the Edo PDP primary invalid over the exclusion of 378 delegates.
Although he acknowledged his respect for Justice Ekwo, noting his experience handling several cases before him and recognizing his sound judicial capabilities. He however emphasized that the case has brought up significant legal questions, particularly regarding jurisdiction and locus standi.
He said in an interview with Channels TV, "I have not seen the justification for Justice Ekwo decision to render the Edo PDP primary invalid. I have a lot of respect for him. I have handled a number of cases before him, and I know he is a very sound judge and may have his justification.
But the fact is that this case has definitely raised issues of jurisdiction and locus standi. These are interesting issues that will be litigated at the appellate court. It's not Uhuru yet for those who are celebrating the court judgment."
