Girona striker, Artem Dovbyk has a release clause of €40m this summer, Girona director confirms.

The 27-year-old received offers from several top clubs in Italy. Atlético Madrid currently have most intention to sign him but still a distance away, reports MatteMoretto.

Dovbyk signed for Girona in the 2023 summer by signing a contract until 2028 for a reported fee of €7 million making him the most expensive player signed by Girona. He scored a goal on his debut in a 1–1 away draw against Real Sociedad. He scored his first hat-trick within six minutes in a 5–1 victory over Sevilla. Dovbyk scored his second hat-trick of the season in a 7–0 win over already relegated Granada. He won the Pichichi Trophy with 24 goals helping his club to qualification for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in club's history.

Girona director Quique Cárcel has confirm today that Dovbyk might leave if his release clause is paid.

He spoke: “I don’t want to sell Dovbyk, but if they pay €40m… you can’t do anything, you have to sell”.
