Hyacinth Alia, leader of the All Progressives Congress and executive governor of Benue State, recently attended two major Thanksgiving Masses, demonstrating his deep connections to the Catholic community.

The Catholic Men's Organization (CMO) of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Gboko, Benue State, hosted a Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday for Governor Alia, and he was invited to attend. Governor Alia went to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mede for yet another Thanksgiving Mass.

Reverend Fr. Godwin Terhemba Biem was formally welcomed into the priesthood at this event, which was celebrated with his ordination. The governor's attendance at both masses demonstrates his dedication to bolstering communal religious activities and milestones. More than that, he thanked the CMO, the priests, the religious, and everyone who worships at St. John the Baptist Cathedral and St. Peter's Catholic Church.

He expressed his profound gratitude for their love, prayers, and constant support. There have been a lot of responses from Governor Alia's admirers and followers on social media to his recent remarks and postings on his verified Facebook page. "Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending a Thanksgiving Mass organized in my honor by the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) of St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Gboko," he said, his voice cracking with emotion.

Subsequently, I was a part of yet another Thanksgiving Mass in Mede's St. Peter's Catholic Church, where we joyfully welcomed Rev. Fr. Godwin Terhemba Biem into the priesthood and celebrated his ordination. I am deeply grateful to the clergy, religious, and congregation of St. John the Baptist Cathedral and St. Peter's Catholic Church for their unwavering support and prayers.
