According to Vanguard, President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration's commitment to tackling insecurity in Nigeria, vowing that his government will not rest until banditry, terrorism, and other forms of insecurity are completely eliminated. He made this promise at the North West Peace and Security Summit in Katsina State, where he was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The President acknowledged that the North West region has been plagued by insecurity but expressed optimism that the strategies employed by security forces are yielding results. He emphasized the need for regional cooperation and unity in addressing the security challenges, highlighting the importance of addressing historical injustices, institutional frailties, and economic dysfunctions that contribute to insecurity.

The Summit, attended by governors, federal lawmakers, and other stakeholders from the North West region, aims to proffer solutions to insecurity and ensure peace and stability in the region. President Tinubu's administration has adopted kinetic and non-kinetic interventions, including the Pulaku resettlement initiative, to address the root causes of insecurity in the North West.
