Tinubu Appoints Ganduje'a In-law, Idris Ajimobi

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Idris Ajimobi as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development (Office of the President).

According to a statement by Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday, the appointment followed the recent inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.

“The President seeks to harness and develop Nigeria’s agricultural potential, including the animal husbandry ecosystem, to spur sustainable economic growth, create industries and jobs, and eradicate violent conflicts between farmers and herders over time.

Ex-Senate President, Anyim, Joins APC

Former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressive Congress.

He announced the defection at the Pa Oruta Ngele Township Abakaliki, the state capital, during the Grand Finale of the APC Local Government election Campaign on Saturday.

He led a host of other notable personalities across other political parties, including former state and National Assembly members, former governorship candidate of Labour Party in the state, Edwin Nkwegu, Senator Obinna Ọgba, former national and state assembly candidates and thousands of their supporters to join the party.


Diri Joined Forces With Atiku Against Tinubu - Niger Delta

The Niger Delta Integrity Movement (NDIM) has alleged Bayelsa Governor, Douye Diri joined forces with former vice president, Atiku Abubakar to frustrate the aspiration of President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, by its National Coordinator, Bassey Otom Bassey, NDIM said one of the ways Diri worked against Tinubu was through the Naira redesign policy of the CBN.

Bassey maintained that Diri supported Atiku, a northerner, against the political interest of the South whose turn it was to produce the President in 2023 after ex-president Muhammadu Buhari who served eight years in office.


Throne, Others Destroyed As Fire Guts Sanusi's Palace

An early morning fire outbreak has burnt a section of the Gidan Rumfa palace of the 16th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.

PUNCH Online gathered that the fire outbreak, which happened on Friday night, around 11 pm, was set by yet-to-be-identified persons.

A source, who spoke with Daily Trust, said the palace located at Kofar Kudu, where the Emir sits every Monday for the court, was seriously affected by the fire.
