In an interview with The Saturday Sun, Dr Ossai Ossai Edmund, public affairs commentator, activist said he is only suggesting for the release of the detained separatist (known as IPOB) leader as people might think otherwise.

He pointed out that a political solution should be apply since the government has refused to follow the court's judgement. He cited how the political solution was used with some agitators like Gani Adams, OPC; Ralph Uwazurike, MASSOB who were arrested.

However, he urged the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People (IPOB) to halt the insecurity in the South East.

He said, "People may think I am Nnamdi Kanu’s prophet. But on a serious note I think he should be released. We have court judgement to that effect. The government can also use political solution. He is not the first to pass through this ordeal and political solution was used. We have cases of Gani Adams, OPC; Ralph Uwazurike, MASSOB, and the recent case of Sunday Igboho seeking for the realization of the Yoruba nation. So, why continue to delay Mazi Nnamdi Kanu?
