Former Senator Shehu Sani highlighted that the emergence of various political parties and groups stemming from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) played a significant role in the party's loss of power. Among these, he mentioned the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), the Labour Party, and the G5 faction as products of the PDP.

Sani noted that the internal divisions within the PDP led to the party splintering into multiple factions, all vying to challenge the same opposition. Key figures like Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Nyesom Wike, along with other members of the G5 group, were identified as having connections to the PDP.

Sani stressed that these internal rifts weakened the PDP, ultimately resulting in its downfall. He concluded by stating that the PDP's loss of power due to internal disunity should serve as a valuable lesson for future political strategies.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Sani said, "NNPP is a product of the PDP; the Labour Party is a product of the PDP and the G5 are all products of the PDP. So, PDP divided itself into four and they wanted to confront one enemy. Who are the three? Obi is from PDP, Kwankwaso is from PDP, Wike and other G5 are all from PDP. So, a divided house led to the fall of PDP out of power and I believe that that should be a lesson."
