Chelsea Secures Transfer of Spanish Youngster from Barcelona

Spanish young sensation Marc Guiu has completed a transfer deal to Chelsea, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 18-year-old joined the Barcelona academy in 2013 and has thrived, scoring four goals and making 13 appearances. His impressive play saw him advance to the senior squad in 2023. The Barcelona striker has gathered interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and apparently, Chelsea has won the race for his signature.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 6ft 2in tall striker has passed a fitness test with the UEFA Champions League winners.

"Marc Guiu has completed medical tests as a new Chelsea player tonight in London. The release clause worth €6 million has been paid; Barça have been informed with a formal document."

The transfer specialist further confirms that it will be a six-year contract with Chelsea, which will extend until June 2030.

Marc Guiu, who has been described by his youth coach as a "classic number 9," has made three appearances for the Catalan giants, netting only once. He would surely be hoping to find a breakthrough career at Stamford Bridge. He is anticipated to be a second-choice option for Nicholas Jackson.

Marc Guiu, who is renowned for his quickness and strength, recently made the list of the top football players under the age of 19 in the NXGN global rankings.
