Dr. Yemi Farounbi, a former ambassador to the Philippines and Nigeria, reportedly voiced his approval of the Senate President's decision to reject a bill that would have made cows citizens. Farounbi emphasised the need to ensure justice, fairness, and equality for all Nigerians.

While individuals currently enjoying the status quo should not assume their advantages would remain permanently, he emphasised the possible advantages of this option, such as peace, quick progress, and prosperity.

He stated that the injustice and inequality inherent in the constitution imposed by the military are the root causes of the persistent demands for nation-states, IPOB, and other separatist groups.

He was pleased that the Senate President has stopped cows from applying for Nigerian citizenship. Just, fair, and equitable treatment of Nigerians is the only outcome it will guarantee. Additionally, we will see quick development, prosperity, and peace. However, the privileged few should be aware that their good fortune will not last forever; the oppressed will not remain silent indefinitely, and as long as they persist in demanding equal treatment under the current military-imposed constitution, there will be an imbalance and calls for more nationalist movements like IPOB, the Islamic State of West Africa, the Islamic State of Greater Sahara, etca. All these complaints stem from an imbalance of power and fairness.
