Kwara Customs Command generates N10bn in five months.

According to a report by Punch. The Federal Government received N10,027,580,694.63 from the Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara State Command, between January and May of 2024.

The command also conducted 21 seizures of various illegal products throughout the review period, with a total duty paid valued at N35.4 million.

This was revealed on Thursday in Ilorin, the state capital, by Faith Ojeifo, the Customs Area Controller for the Kwara Area Command, during a briefing for reporters about the command's operations during the previous six months.

Additionally, goods for empowerment were distributed to members of the Customs Officers' Wives Association and relief materials were donated to the state Ministry of Social Development for further distribution to the most disadvantaged members.

507 sacks of imported rice and 1,055 pieces of used tires were among the contraband and illegal materials that the Customs officers confiscated, according to Ojeifo.
