Nigerian Tribune reports that Senator Jimoh Ibrahim of Ondo South has admitted to using a phone app that can detect the quantity of weapons nearby, no matter where he is. He made this revelation on Wednesday during a senate session as he was offering his thoughts on a resolution proposed by Ali Ndume, the senator for Borno South.

Recent suicide bombings in Gwoza, a local government area within Ndume's senatorial district, were the focus of his motion, which dominated the session. The growing danger of terrorism in the area and the attendant worries about safety were the intended topics of the meeting. To prevent these violent crimes and protect citizens, Ndume emphasised the urgent need for appropriate solutions. Ibrahim gave a remarkable overview of the technical resources available to him for security reasons during his speech.

While he spoke, he counted 277 weapons in his near vicinity, stating that he was cognizant of their presence. The national assembly is located close to the Three Arms Zone, with an armoury stationed at Aso Rock, he said, which led to this estimate. He stressed the need to use technology to improve security and information gathering. Ibrahim went on to say that the army should give its soldiers these kinds of phone devices so they can find criminals more easily.

He went on to say that this technology might help strengthen the country's defences. Proactively ensuring personal and public safety in high-security zones, he demonstrated his knowledge of the nearby weaponry by consistently checking his phone. He proposed that the military should be equipped with tracking devices on their phones in order to gather intelligence about these criminals. I keep track of the amount of firearms in the area by checking my phone often from where I sit. Over 277 firearms are present.
