In a recent gathering at the residence of former Governor Celestine Omehia in Ubima, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara addressed the challenges facing the state. The assembly, which included political figures such as Uche Secondus and Peter Odili, served as a platform for Governor Fubara to emphasize the importance of unity and collective action to protect the state from divisive forces. As reported by PUNCH.

Governor Fubara, while offering condolences to Omehia for the loss of his mother, Mrs. Ezinne Omehia, called for an end to the harmful effects of political division. He stated, "Anybody who claims to love this state should not be party to anything, directly or indirectly, that will bring us backwards," advocating for progress and cooperation.

The event also saw Omehia pledge his support to Governor Fubara's leadership, declaring, "I have taken a decision to be SIMplified. Wherever you go (Fubara), is where I will go," signaling a commitment to the governor's vision for the state.

Amidst the expressions of unity, the political landscape remains fraught with tension, particularly between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. The state's political stability is further tested by recent cabinet resignations due to loyalty conflicts, underscoring the need for reconciliation and focused governance.
