Dele Farotimi, a lawyer, has shared a story involving former President Olusegun Obasanjo who was allegedly gifted a lion

In a post on his Facebook page, Dele Farotimi said Obasanjo named the lion cub Aremu and kept it confined in a small enclosure measuring 3 meters by 3 within the Obasanjo presidential library complex. He said over time, the lion cub grew into a full-grown male lion, yet it remained confined in the small enclosure.

Farotimi said he visited the Obasanjo presidential library with his wife and witnessed the distressing condition in which the lion was living

In Farotimi's words: "General Obasanjo was gifted a lion, he named it Aremu and he built a cage within the Obasanjo presidential library complex measuring no more than 3 meters by 3 and he kept this lion cub in that enclosure. That lion cub grew to become a grown lion, a male. I went to the Obasanjo Presidential Library with my wife because I wanted to see what the man had built in his private space. So when I witnessed what he had built in his private space, I saw the constraint with which this lion was living".
